@new22003: Some other real world accounts from other E46 owners that back my results: [forum.e46fanatics.com]

@new22003: Fact: a. MY 2003 M3 has a blue book value of $20k; I paid $30k for it 3 years ago. b. MY 2003 M3 right now gets 18.5 around town and last highway trip (avg ~70 mph) got 28.6. No distortion or twisting. I agree it's an anecdote... but it doesn't mean it's not true and its certainly not bluster.

@new22003: Sure... and why would I lie about my gas mileage? Personally, I don't care what others think... and more importantly if my M3 got 10 MPG, I'd tell you.

@new22003: I see you're still making assumptions... My car is ACTUAL, and b/c the '11 Mustang has not been real world tested, it MAY or MAY NOT better the MPG estimates. Let's (please) continue this conversation in 2017 when this particular Mustang is 7 years old.

@new22003: You're making the assumptions... read my post. I'm not disputing or "refusing" any EPA estimate comparisons. I've only indicated that my 7 year old M3 has about the same performance and gets better highway mileage (not "occasionally") then the estimate for this brand spanking new mustang.

@new22003: I checked the site and it also says "We have revised the 1985-2007 MPG estimates to make them comparable to the new 2008 and later MPG estimates!" They are estimating; my readings are actual. Though I get 19-21 around town, so I'll admit that's pretty close.
