Forget FaceTime as it is not available for Android users. You cannot assume everyone uses Apple devices. Android users can use Google Duo or Microsoft Skype instead.

The problem is that manufactures of Android phones stop updating their phones after 1-2 years (unless they are on the Android One program). This means they are stuck on an older version of Android forever and after the second year those phones will stop receiving monthly patches.
