Well it was their second time with the big open worldish portion.  They have clearly been trying to figure the exploration part out.  Im a fan of the TR trilogy as well.  I lean towards UC, but TR is up there for me (platformers, with some climbing, shooting, mercenaries, hidden treasures...pretty much my jam).
