A propos of nothing, really, but I saw a Model 3 take off from a red light the other day, and holy mother of god, that thing was fast. For a second I thought he had timed the green light just right and hadn’t actually stopped, but there was a line of stopped cars behind him, so he must have started from a dead stop. I

The TR6 has dual brake circuits (separate front and rear circuits) connected by a moveable O-ring-sealed metal shuttle that could move back and forth within a brass cylinder. If one of the circuits leaked, when you pushed the brake, the pressure differential between the circuits would push the shuttle one way or

This. Many’s the time, when up to my grease-stained elbows in a seemingly insurmountable mechanical problem, have I muttered “Why the f**k did I take this on?”. But when it’s all back together, better than before, I crack a beer, survey what I have accomplished and the sense of satisfaction makes all the greasy

Have to fit a cup holder in the cockpit, though

Most weekends I’ll do something to the TR6, but when they salt the roads around here in preparation for the apocalyptic 1/2" of snow that might not come (NC), I use the forced downtime to do all the major stuff that I put off. The Triumph has been pretty reliable in the ~8 years I’ve had it. Weather permitting, I’ll

Having been a life-long “oil change-level” mechanic, I got a crash course in old car maintenance when I embarked on a frame-off restoration of my ‘72 TR6 6 months after I bought it. Turned out the frame was rusted out - something I hadn’t known enough to check when I bought it. I found a rehabbed frame and rebuilt the

If they can’t make noise out of their tailpipes, they’ll make it somewhere - like the sound of breaker boxes exploding all over suburbia.

That’s beautiful

Wire we still talking about this?

Voiturette

My first thought was “brakes and a fuel pump? That’s nothing!”, but the extent of the rot has me reconsidering. I don’t think this beast can be saved. Maybe transplant the motor and drivetrain into a sounder body?

This is a Porsch-uh, so you know the pipe will be filled with the finest quality crack

These are apparently very good SUVs and this seems like a not-outrageous price. Unfortunately, I’m not a soccer-mom not quite well-heeled enough for hubby to spring for new Cayenne, but who aspires to a step-up from a mere Touareg or Q7. And she’s not showing up to McKenzie’s practice in a Lexus. So, NP for Mom, CP

Man, wish they’d put a turbo in it - that’d make it killa...

This is great - I would’ve been so disappointed if he had bottled and sold it on. This will be a shit-ton of work, but he’s going to have an awesome 911- hell, a family heirloom and a great story - when he’s done. I’d be on this in a heartbeat.

Beautiful car, but CP. I’m not about to donate $150k to Carrol Shelbys memory, however hallowed that memory is. I’m gonna need that money for the nurse when my own memory starts to go

There’s almost certainly a physical volume control on the steering wheel. I don’t hate this layout. The infotainment screen sticking up from the dash is a little awkward looking, but it makes complete sense in terms of minimizing eyes off the road - like when using Nav for example.

People abandon cars for odd reasons - guy I know bought an M Coupe Clownshoe for cheap - it had been sitting in the drive for 5 years because one day it wouldnt start, and the owner (not a car guy - had inherited it when his car guy brother died) Just left it there. My guy took a chance, made a lowball offer that was

So When Donnie said “I never grabbed that birch’s pussy”, he wasn’t talking about a cat stuck in a tree?
