I think Donnie imagines Space Force nuking them from orbit - it’s the only way to be sure...

My puzzlement was genuine, not feigned as you stated - you’re asking for a prior specific instance of the GOP stating that they would not hold a vote and then going ahead and voting. I’m not aware of such an incident other than the one under discussion, nor did I state that such a prior instance existed, so I really

IKR? I need to be able to see T-Rex’s teeth to know whether or not he’s dangerous. Maybe he just wants to play....

Apart from the environmental impact of manufacturing those 2% extra cars, and the fact that any aero advantage is moot when all those extra cars are sitting in clogged traffic, made worse ‘cos some madman (not you - some other madman) thought it was a good idea to up car production by 2%.

Sounds suspiciously close to “Pallin’ ‘round with terr’ists”

That’s pretty nice. I’m about to embark on some major surgery/deferred maintenance on my ‘02 Outback, and I’ve been pondering a lift and some extra lights. The Subie is no longer the “family car”, so I can do what I like with it

Sorry friend, what is it you’re waiting for, exactly? You’ve lost me

Oh for the love of god...

When your diet is essentially vegetable-free, every shit is a stubborn shit

The victims here are the people of NC, whose electoral will is being subverted - no-one’s blaming them. Carry on.

Fair enough, but whether the GOP are compelled by their nature to act scorpion-like, or whether they choose to do doesn’t change the fact that I have no expectation of them behaving any differently. Getting bent out of shape over their skulduggery makes as much sense as yelling at the rain for making my head wet.

I disagree - you don’t blame the scorpion for its nature, but you can be frustrated at the frog for trusting the scorpion, despite knowing better. SarDeliac below says it better.

These are not “their colleagues” - These are “the enemy” - they demonstrated that...yet again. The NC GOP has become a watchword for double-dealing and chicanery, yet the NC Dems continue to take them at face value.

Sorry Friend - not Tomato, just a frustrated North Carolinian

Which point did I miss? When are the Dems going to realize that you don’t turn your back on people like this?

FUCKING DEMOCRATS - YOU’RE PAID TO SHOW UP. WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP. SHOW UP!!!!

The original Land Rover was a triumph of function over form, and the original Defender followed suit. The fact that they’re willing to compromise function (i.e. visibility) for what is useless design frippery shows how far from the original Land Rover ethos this thing has strayed. It reinforces (for me, at least)

I’d say drive it home. The one car transporter I used (open truck) was not great - car took forever (~10 days Boston to Little Rock AR), went through at least one snowstorm and arrived filthy, and they managed to bend one of the seats. In contrast, I drove my TR6 home (~500 mi) - took forever, but a real bonding

Summer, even here in relatively mild NC, is the worst time for driving a convertible, IMO. Sunburn (I’m Irish - I burn beside a bright lightbulb), ‘nads sizzling on the vinyl seats, useless A/C, even if the car has A/C. Fall and winter (before things start to freeze and they salt the roads) are perfect - time for a

Possibly one of the most Jalop scenes ever captured. Who and where?
