This memorial in my home state of NJ remains my favorite.

Mostly stuff with Newman (even when I'm talking about Jurassic Park, I can't call him anything but; I mean Nedry) and the kids. Seriously, this movie's all over the place, except I totally don't care.

I get why Akira's important, especially as a break through in animation. But seriously, WTF. Like most anime (and square enix games), I'm completely lost.

My experience with actual steam engines makes my tolerance for that really low, as well.

That really ground my gears (steampunk jokes!!!1!!) in "Perdido Street Station" by China Mieville. I don't like the steampunk aesthetic, but he's such a good author that I didn't let that stop me from reading the book. I was fine with it until there was the AI supercomputer that lived in the garbage dump. No. No

I despise steampunk. Style over substance, really. "Let's just put everyone in corsets, give them some unnecessary goggles and stick some useless gears and buckles on everything. STEAMPUNK."

the actual picture of the plane..

Sheesh, it's the damn Indy 500. Every news organization on the planet spoiled it the minute it was over and somehow you thought reloading a CAR BLOG would be safe?!

Here's another reason. This is a specimen of an earth rock called olivine gabbro. The olivine (magnesium-iron silicate) is light green and stands out in relief. The criss-crossing darker green cracks and the light green material on the right are a hydrous version of the same mineral, created by weathering.

I have always believed in the reality of the Moon Landings for a stupid anecdotal reason - my father, through his company, did a lot of work in creating the transmitters to send the camera signals back to earth from the moon. He was deeply involved in that work and he was very proud of it. In the days before IC chips,

That % does not defy belief when you consider the fact that Adam Sandler movies make lots of money. Considering that, I think the number is a little low.

"You're right, no human being would stack books like this..."

Fucking hipsters.

In other news, injuries related to people inadvertently running into air conditioners and electrical boxes jump 4000%
