The singer is currently in a band called Frontier(s). The EP that's coming out soon is totally on par with this.

They've got the EP up on Bandcamp and just signed to Tiny Engines–a label that's putting out so much good stuff–and have a new release in the works. http://beachslang.bandcamp….

Finally, someone appreciates my unique skill set.

My enjoyment of Wesley is genuine. He was a touchstone for nearly everyone in the Chicago punk scene and, in many cases, beyond. The obit Jello Biafra wrote for him when he passed still moves me to this day, and while I don't have as many direct experiences with him as some, the people here truly loved and cared about

This is solid advice. Even if I am tangentially related to one of these bands.

I also have a Jawbreaker 4F symbol on me, thanks in part to a friend who was apprenticing at a shop and needed to something easy. Since my body is worthless, I let him do his earliest test runs on me,

The new Jazz June song sounds like Built To Spill. It's strange and awesome.

"Heavy emo" is a perfect description for the songs on Petitioning The Empty Sky. Even back then they were in a league of their own.

"The Saddest Day" is perfect. It's the only word I can use to describe it accurately.

Yep, Black Sails is still tops for me. Though I will also defend Shut Your Mouth… as being an underrated, hardcore classic.

They played a free street festival in Chicago a couple years back in the middle of the afternoon. They only played their most offensive material, and it was amazing.

That's because it is the best.

As a Gin Blossoms defender, it is meant as a high compliment.

Oh, absolutely, Bill.

Instagram videos are only 15 seconds so that is the cause of my haste.

I got started on all that young and, as you can probably tell, never really got out of it.

Loved Toe for a very long time and they only got pressed on vinyl this past year. Top Shelf did an excellent job with them. If you come across 'em, grab 'em!

None of these were first-time purchases. Had many of these on CD in my younger days, and old original pressings of them for cheap are hard to pass up. Also, I still actively like many of those bands, so there's that.

Keep trying. You guys will hit it.
