Do NOT do this. Feeding those animals does them no favors.

Most of these are somewhat stressful, actually. Gaming? For a middle aged guy with average dexterity and reflexes, it is more stressful than relaxing. Watching genres that I typically avoid? That will just remind me why I hate them to begin with (superhero movies, anime, game shows, reality TV, anything that smacks of

For me, email is just a tool, not a progress tracker or a goal sheet. I use a whiteboard for what needs to get done short and long term. All my emails sit in my inbox, since searching is relatively quick and painless there’s no need to file anything. Works great for me.

A good CFO would call out the CEO. I’m a CFO and I do it all the time. In fact, my boss EXPECTS me to call out his mistakes, otherwise I’m just a useless “yes man.”

I just switched to them too, after 8 years with Verizon. It was really nice to drop my phone bill from $85 to $24 (with taxes). I couldn’t be happier.

I’m aghast that Republic Wireless isn’t mentioned. I pay $20/month for 1GB of data, unlimited talk and text. Not sure if anyone beats that. You can go to their website to see for yourself.

Matt, Dude I’m going to use that one! Ha!

Right but “thanks in advance” makes no grammatical sense whatsoever. When I get that in an email, it irritates me.

I fly at least twice per year. It’s not much, but it’s enough that I’ve noticed the shift to unbundling that Kristin pointed out. By far the worst experiences I have consistently happen to me on Frontier Airlines. I was even sitting with a group of guys about my age (middle age), and we started cracking jokes like

Chinooker, I’m a CFO at a mid-size company and just want to say you are exactly right. In fact, during the first 20 years of my career, I kept a log of “This is what I will NEVER do as a leader,” and still add to it today (though not as frequently). I surmise only 1 out of 10 leaders actually excel at leading. At

Is it me, or is “Contact” the single most in-and-out film Netflix offers??? It always seems to me like it’s there, then it’s not, then it’s there, then it’s not.

They were the first “minimalist rock” band I can recall from that horrible, horrible decade for rock music. Good riddance, 1990s.

Too little too late. Sorry Google you missed the boat; we’ve all ‘converted’ to something else, and as you know, change management can be quite difficult.

Kristin,

I’m a CFO and can assure you that we are as dumb as you portrayed us in your post above.

The Nifty Fifty, and it’s even faster cousin the 50mm f/1.4, is some of the highest ROI I’ve ever had from a lens. Every time I use mine I’m floored how great the pics look compared to what I paid for it ($110 @ B&H). And at such a low price point, dropping it in a stream or losing it or whatever doesn’t even bother

That’s the thing with me; who cares about the conversion? If someone asked me to go 2 km, I would go 2 km. If they asked me to go 6 miles, I would go 6 miles. I fail to see why I need to convert. Very strange. Same with foreign currency. If it’s 10 Kroner to catch a cab, then that’s what it is. If I don’t have 10

Thanks for the tip!

You’ve never accepted a position because you need a job and your options are limited? Interesting.

Another one: if the boss openly blasts others who are still working there, turn and run.
