I second this recommendation as well. I was using Notepad++ on windows before I discovered Sublime Text. Although its still good to have Notapad++ around since it has syntax highlighting for a lot more languages.

I totally agree. It's well worth the money and is serious one of the best text editors I've used. With all the addon choices it really is that sweet spot between simplicity and full blown ide.
