pretty much, if you go to 30th St station, the taxi lane is all panthers (all with "police interceptor" badges) or Altima Hybrids and the passenger car lane usually has several UBER Chrysler 300s and Chevy Suburbans. I live around the corner in Belmont from one of the yards that converts former police cruisers into

Fiberglass rebodied VW... not bad, Subbie brat... damn good.... the two together? definitely not great CP

Compared to italian exotics?

they had more in common with Saturns and certain Vauxhalls than Buick , but yes, the universal opinion is that GM ruined Saab

same reason I play with mid 90s Saab's, cheap, easy to work on

The common thought seems to be that the next generation of Saab's were going to be epic, but the bankruptcy forced GM (by forced, the government said loose hummer, saab and pontiac or no deal or so the rumor goes) to off them with some incredible cars in the pipeline , now the NEVS giving up, I think we're done with

the 9000 is not as roll compatible as the better designed 900, but both passed the infamous moose test in trollhatten

NP all day long, get parts from gowesty out in LA, upgrade the motor and brakes and head off into the sunset

the NG900 Saab's share a platform and many parts with saturns

I've been working on my NG900 as this sort project, but not to flip, just to end up with a decent car, so far it's been an education in quirky swedish construction, would I do it again? perhaps, but I would definitely want to try something like your's next time

hey holmes, smell ya later

in the early 80's there was a car subculture in Philly that worshiped at the Rotary altar. Anything early Mazda was rotaried and hooned with 10000rpm launches. While this isn't an Rx3, it does fit that aesthetic. Still for this money, CP.. what's next? the Twin Stick Colt or the Sapporo?

I would take this , paint red and blue stripes with a 53 on the door and hoon the daylights out of it

Don't think of it as a Coupe Camry, look on it like a Japanese take on the Saab 900/93 convertible. Perfect car for a nice drive in the country

adding in the the 2.4 issues. Corrolla, Matrix, Pontiac Vibe had the option for the 2.4 over the 1.8

That's actually a better deal than what you're getting out of Toyota so, good news for people who own Pontiac Vibes... which is a group of people who probably haven't had good news in a long time.

Cadillac Cimmaron, first gen Cavalier mechanicals with different facia

I was coming here to post this.....it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image, nicely done!

Years ago I work at a hospital in a depressed area of Philly, Guy came by everyday and parked a former full sized school bus, painted pink, that he had constructed a small cafe inside. It was called obviously " The Pink Bus Cafe" ....

NP, Buy this, drive it immediately to GoWesty for an engine/ tranny swap and a brake upgrade, will do 70mph all day and get low 20's mpg on the highway.
