I have to admit that “cityfolk” raising chickens amuses me greatly. I hear all these stories about people treating their chickens like pets, keeping non-laying hens, and frantically searching for homes for their chicks that turn out to be roosters because they can’t stand the idea of someone eating a bird they named.

I live in the north, where sunrise at 4am in the summer would make no goddamn sense at all.

This is very true. I would be okay with any of these options: 1. Slash the military and defense spending budget and let the surplus pay off our debts. 2. Slash the military and defense spending budget and roll it over to domestic social programs. 3. Slash the military and defense spending budget and return the savings

Actually, the top 20% of income earners pay about 95% of the federal income taxes collected.

If you have an old house with plaster walls, stud finders are almost useless. I had a hard time in my closet trying to hang shelves. If I’d known about the magnet trick back then, I would have had many less holes to fill than I did.

Ctrl-F “Ham sandwich”. Nope, this article fails to include the most relevant piece of information about Grand Juries.

That mechanic is incompetent.

You can’t tell a damaged value from a leaky ring by a compression test alone.

The 10cc of oil trick works for the shadetree but you really need to preform a leakdown test.

Secondly I can’t fathom how the fuel, even if was washing the cylinder walls, could cause a valve to bend.

Rather than examining income, it might be more useful to look at the personality types representative of each profession. Professions that require extensive education tend to draw people who can delay gratification and will commit to long-term goals- both qualities that would aid in sustaining a marriage.

I have dropped phones with an otterbox defender from 8 feet off a box truck and didn’t break. I don’t care if my phone is 2.5 times the size, I will always have a big fing case on my expensive smart phone. My phone isn’t a fashion accessory to me, it is an asset.

I’ve had 3 expensive smart phones over the years and had protection on the first, but not the final two. The only issue I’ve had is with an LG G4 that bootlooped, but was covered under the standard warranty.

Who buys these protection plans? I’ve had about four smartphones now and not one had a protection plan from my wireless provider, device manufacturer, or place I bought it from. Am I just more careful with my devices than the average person? I’ve always found these extended warranties to be a bad deal.

Well put.

“Extortion”? What extortion? They made a product and are asking people to pay for it. You’re certainly welcome to not consume it.

My company won’t buy back days, nor can they roll over to the next year and I’m actually glad of that. It removes any incentive to skip using them.

Neither can win? Say what you will about Dale Jr, but he had 26 Cup victories. Most drivers would kill to have the career Jr has had.

This is exactly it. Socialists, be they democratic, communist or national all require one thing.... force. They refuse to acknowledge the gun in the room.

When someone is being condescending, calmly explain that they’re being a dick. Got it. Now, why is it exclusively a gender dynamic? Any particular reason for the sexist term? Are women incapable of being condescending dicks?

Dear Lifehacker,

Something that a lot of people miss is back channel availability. When I’m on vacation, I’m definitely reachable to the people covering for me in case they need something, but it’s the rest of the company I’m not available for. That way, I’m letting my team learn and grow and exercise authority with my support, and
