It's the way the webpage delivers. You can specify in the header a file to be a download, or something to view. I specify all my mp3s as downloads, as else they open in the internal player (often quicktime, or the html5 player). when ever you click a "download link", it works like that.

me, too. i even chose chrome as default for local pdfs, works just fine. very fast in parsing and displaying them.

If one enhances the video enough, one can find traces of the original audio waves in there from the playback (yes, the playback), as this shaked up the reading laser of the dvd, which distorted the picture signal.
