The show should have been based in 2002, right before its peak. You could have had the store be successful for a few seasons then made jokes about his newcomer ‘Netflix’ coming in and hurting business, and then that could have been a rivalry for a couple seasons.

It’s funny to see the nostalgia for Blockbuster—even I’m guilty of it!—when at the time Blockbuster was huge THEY were the big bad guy for running the little Mom and Pop video stores out of business.

I liked it, but can we admit the first two episodes were terrible? It really picked up after that, but the expositional, shallow storytelling in those pair of opening chapters was straight-up garbage.

I absolutely loved the first season so I’d personally be delighted about a season 2.

Frankly, I’m still astounded that such a good adaptation got made in the first place.  If season 2 doesn’t happen, I’ll still be happy with what we got.

It seems to me that he’s missing the part where charging for the blue check immediately makes it worthless. It doesn’t matter if it’s $1 or $100/month. If you can buy it it’s not a security feature.

Yeah it was never actually for expertise - it was basically “are you important enough that people might pretend to be you so you need to prove it’s actually you tweeting,” with what was “important enough” never really explained. 

They were for expertise? I thought it was a verification of the actual identity of a notable person, with notable basically intending to cover public figures, celebrities and published journalists at significant media outlets.

That’s not what they’re for; it’s just to show that the account is the actual account for the actual person it claims to be.
