‘Lisa Frankenstein’ was technically a comedy and I would argue that it was absolutely worth seeing in a full(ish) theater.

I am on my bus ride home after seeing a screening of this in San Francisco, and I immediately went to AV club to see their take on it.

“Harley Quinn (a show in my ever-expanding queue)“

“one might expect moving over to the family-friendly platform Disney+ might dampen some of the queerness or queer themes... Davies, who created Queer As Folk and It’s A Sin”

It baffles me that I see so many jerkoffs in comment sections saying “Doctor Who went Woke because DISNEY!”

I mean, in ‘The End of the World’ The Doctor was very openly and steamily flirting with a tree person. I personally like the idea that the Doctor is open to attraction to literally any sentient being so long as its consensual.

In fairness " Elle King" also has a lot more swagger than "Elle Schneider." Wasn't she also estranged from her father?

I actually legit love the 1985 Bride, in all its corny splendor, and it was the first thing I thought of when I heard the title.

“We know more about the Democratic Party’s platform”

Yeah, at this point I’m kind of steeling myself for a second Trump term, which I think may be much MUCH worse than a first (in his mind, all his worst impulses would be even more reinforced by the vote). I haven’t read anything that makes me optimistic for a Biden win.

If the show were just Aubrey and Kristen hanging out at Jinkx and Dela shows, it would have been the most perfect holiday movie ever.

Someone on my Facebook feed posted that Anya Taylor-Joy was the next bond, and until I saw this article and realized he was joking I was incredibly intrigued.

They’re not just witches - they’re BEATNIK witches that hang out in a cool New York bohemian club and play jazz! That movie is a delight, and I named my cat Pyewacket because of it!

Oh, fair. Yes, we all left that on the table.

“Dennis would probably be Wonka, and Charlie would obviously be The Unknown.”

Oh, You Are So Not Invited to my Bat Mitzvah’ was so incredible and needs to get way WAY more buzz than it currently has.

Because he has been a movie star for almost 30 years and always gets very talented actors to show up for his movies.”

‘Hubie Halloween’ is a slight frustration for me, because I think it’s a legitimately sweet and funny film, but I wish he had pitched the character down juuuust a hair. The feeling I got was that it was like he didn’t quite trust the film’s comedy to stand on its own without a ridiculous over-the-top derpy voice, and

The art style reminds me a lot of Tuca & Bertie and Bojack Horseman as well, to the extent that I had to look up if Lisa Hanawalt was involved.

Also, I absolutely also miss Tuca & Bertie :/

I feel the same, and I think it speaks volumes to Janelle James as an actor that a character that I would think of as being utterly despicable on paper is unexpectedly so appealing to me.

I don’t know if this was universal, but in my social circles at least, both Amélie’ and ‘City of Lost Children’ were just the BIGGEST THING EVER for several years. Everyone owned those two movies, everyone loved them, all the little art theaters had them in rotation every month and the soundtracks were played as the
