I was about to say; I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and over here that house would have five people having to share it at $1,200 per person,

I’m always surprised and delighted to run into other Wonderfalls fans!
Yup. This is the case even in major cities. I’m in San Francisco and the former Circuit City on Van Ness collected dust for years (I’m honestly not sure that it isn’t still empty now) and the old CompUSA building was empty for something like seven years before it finally became a Marshals.
Goddamn in. Our local Emeryville store is on the chopping block,
I saw that tour, too (although I was one of the pale, fishnetted kids that went to see Murphy). I remember really liking her a lot in a ‘guitarist at a hip coffeehouse’ kind of way, which sounds like a diss, but was considered an endearing description in 1995.
I just watched the whole series over the course of the three day weekend and I... kinda liked it, too, although I definitely see how it’s hard to get into.
“Since Nov. 7, 2016, the rush to blame the rural poor for Trump (despite the hard numbers revealing that his real base is comfortably middle-class whites living in suburbia) has created a thirsty market for this kind of drivel.”
“I would watch a live feed of this editor working in real time. Seriously”
Me In Annoyance: “Wait - what?! What’s the *worst* Harry Potter movie?”
My girlfriend has absolutely confirmed that she first clicked on my profile because my username was ‘Muppet_of_a_Man’ and I can’t imagine she would have found ‘Dave’ nearly as interesting.
Oh, Hollywood and your quaint notions of poverty:
I know I’m in a steadily decreasing minority, but buying clothes online seems unfathomable to me. I don’t even have a particularly weird body shape or anything, but I can’t really judge whether an item actually looks good *on* me until I’ve tried it on. There have been plenty of items that seem like they would be my…
“I know she’s from NY.”
Oh my god, that’s kind of amazing! I can’t believe I haven’t heard of her before!
So she IS a murder doll! MY HEAD CANON IS REAL CANON!
I always wondered what was supposed to be wrong with the perfectly normal-seeming doll. They never mention in the song what it was that makes her a misfit. In my head canon, I’m just going to imagine that she’s an evil murder doll.
“Yeah, I kind of like the show, but I also can’t stand Rust’s character, and the whole implausibility of him going out with a woman who looks like Jacobs really undermines the premise of the whole show for me.”
Not just Jacobs - positively EEEEVERYBODY wants to sleep with Gus. Heidi, some rando girl he talks to at a…
This was me in High School, too. But it was 1992, and my couple of other ‘Nice Guy’ friends were exactly the same way, and there wasn’t a forum of people going “No. Let this GO! You’re being an asshole!” so that terrible mindset hung on a few years longer. We all thought we were Duckie Dale or Brian Krakow and had no…
There was, on a small scale, an #itwasme movement that went along with the #metoo movement where men openly copped to behavior that they now recognize as abusive. It didn’t get as much traction as it should, but it was there.
“(Worth noting that John Waters—the king of camp—regularly depicts low-income white Americans in fun and silly ways yet somehow always manages to be kind.)“
