Ha!

Wow - I had no idea so many commenters here loathed Von Trier so much - if you went for an action-packed adrenaline-fuelled thrill-ride (with a happy ending), then I'm not surprised you didn't like it.

Damn. YES.

Not to quibble with any of your choices at all, but I'd like to give a mention to Generation Hope #9.

Krogan!

And this is why we love it, no?

Nice - I don't see the "hell of being cut to pieces", though...

7 million over it's production costs of 30 isn't bad, seeing as it'll do pretty well on DVD, I'd imagine - it's less of a risk making a sequel when the original made money than blowing, say, 90 million and maybe getting a result like Conan.

If I was more proactive and could be bothered, I'd like to start a campaign for Alexander SkarsgÄrd and no one else to play Ilya Kuryakin.

Read Angela Carter or Bram Stoker (Lair of the White Worm has a gloriously silly film adaptation too).

Actually, I'm pretty glad of that - I weakened for a moment and now - phew! - I can honestly say I've STILL not seen even a second of Pluto Nash. And I'm a better person for it.

Perry Farrell was in Greg Araki's Doom Generation also. Pretty much as screwed-up a character as you'd expect.

No bother - I go off-topic pretty much constantly. Excession would be great, definitely.

Having read the novel, I can already tell you they really, really haven't gone down this route. I confess I was worried when I heard the casting. Isserley is meant to look odd - attractive when seen in dim lighting with an impressive bosom, but not a Hollywood babe.

Well, it's lazy if we just talk about "Ireland". If we talk about "Northern Ireland", then I have no trouble with it at all.

Spare us from the Trout-Pout Adventures, please!

Oops. My bad - I don't normally get Sky, but I think they showed it as part of a free weekend?

Nope. ITV. A lot of these shows are on BBCA because other terrestrial UK channels don't have a platform for US viewers to watch them.

Not to put too much of a downer on Bedlam, but I'm liking The Fades a lot more than this and, because it's a BBC show, you might get it a little quicker than you've got this.
