Sounds like a fun new game. Which cars could you crash together to achieve those figures?

I guess the 6.0l V12 with 500bhp and 750 torques is just too much for you? What are you, a man or a mouse? ;)

It's more expensive in the UK - it's all about taxes.

Should have got a second citation for having a defective brain.

I can't remember where I read it, although it smacks of Neal Stephenson, but some fictional character ends up with a corn-stalk through his brain as a result of straight lines not fitting properly on the globe: riding a motorbike through the night down some long straight Mid-West road, he was caught out by one of the

People shouldn't slam on their brakes just because the speed limit changes, although of course there are plenty of idiots out there. I hadn't considered the size of the change, if that's unusual in the States, but roads here in the UK which go from 60 straight down to 20 for a village are not uncommon - 60 down to 30

What, because you can't just put the 15 sign somewhere people can see it in time to brake smoothly?

Since the planet's not flat, only a road following a great circle route would actually be straight. I started looking of there are any roads which curve appropriately, but couldn't find anything on google.

#3 wouldn't be a revenue stream if people would respect a residential speed limit sign. What, do you think going at 15mph instead of 55mph for a hundred yards is going to take too long? We're talking seconds at most. Or is it that you weren't paying enough attention to the road to slow down in time? Sounds like a

And will they charge every single driver involved with dangerous driving? Will they bollocks. As long as we keep letting these bloody morons on the road, we'll keep on having moronically stupid crashes cost lives. Let's be clear here, they all drove their cars at significant speeds without being able to see where they

2nd: The 1-litre car has been a Euro dream for years - it refers to getting 100km per litre of fuel, because the Euros measure fuel economy in l/100KM. It's been perfectly possible to build for years, but would be too compromised to be practical. They're getting closer, though.

Heh, that 'more aero than a Porsche' is a good sales line. Of course most people don't realise that a saloon/sedan is pretty much the most aerodynamic of all car body shapes.

There's a list of various Cds on Wikipedia that makes interesting reading - it seems that about 0.3-0.45 is good enough, so any further aero improvement is sacrificed for increased practicality in other areas (in most cars, there are a few exceptions). That's been much the same for at least fifty years now, by the

"There is no valid explanation for a 40 MPH speed limit on a 12 lane superhighway."

Is this guy sane? It seems a reasonable question given that his behaviour is entirely irrational. If he is sane, then under the circumstances I think his sentence is harsh but justifiable. If he's deliberately making a choice to flout the law even after serving two years for drunk driving, though, then I struggle to

So clearly the sentencing doesn't work. That inspires confidence in the latest bout, does it?

Unless it's purely for racetrack use, how could a Mustang be considered comparable to either an M3 or a BRZ? The whole point of the Mustang is that it's a far cheaper car than those it rivals in performance. It's performance is impressive because of the price-tag, not despite it.

Does STi have to mean more power? Given what the BRZ's designed to be, adding lightness would appear to be the way to go. Strip out a couple of hundred kilos, and you could actually manage with less power, so a smaller, lighter engine - say VAG's 1.4 turbo in top tune, which actually doesn't drop much power at all -
