I would not be surprised if most police departments do not have a helicopter capable of 180 mph. That is very fast for a chopper.

The problem with a GTI with 300+ anything is that it is aggravating to drive. Could be a little faster overall, but you get to spend a lot of time managing wheelspin.
I only rarely comment on Jalopnik articles because I noticed that even after I carefully wrote out a well-considered reply, it was grayed and nobody would see it or reply to it. This is one of the most carefully curated comments sections on any site I frequent. I don’t know if I would say it actually has made for…
One of those flashing LED center taillights. Sure, sometimes dealers just install that, but I assume it’s the owner of the car. If they think they have a problem with tailgaters, I figure that it’s just as likely they have a habit of driving like a dumbass and inducing tailgating. So I give them a little extra space…
The design... from the outside... has held up pretty well. But let me tell you, as someone who has driven one, that it is a great example of how far we have come since the eighties.
You’re not being entirely fair, or you haven’t seriously looked at a modern minivan. For a year or so my wife drove a ‘14 Grand Caravan. Not without it faults, but with close to 300 horsepower it was not piggish at all, and with such a short nose on the thing it was *awesome* for navigating around parking lots. And…
It’s going to be fun in a schadenfreude sort of way, at least in the short term. As a white upper middle class male, everything Trump does will benefit me, as long as he doesn’t push the button. In the longer term, of course, we’ll all be fucked together, but you just said 2017.
Stock for stock, the EB is a lot quicker than the 5.0. I shopped both, fully expecting to get a 5.0 because I love the rumble, but after driving an EB I couldn’t overlook how much more power it had.
I’m working on the assumption that the computer will tell me when to change the oil in full knowledge of what I’m using the truck for, because it knows I have a trailer connected. Hopefully less than 10K.
I tow a travel trailer with my pickup. It does not go off road. While doing this it carries our whole family. And when not towing the trailer, it doubles as a daily driver for my wife. I don’t need luxury per se, but air conditioning and other comforts typical of a family car are required.
It’s a no brainer for sure. If you want Cayman, cheap, reliable, then Toyobaru is easily the closest match. A Miata might be okay, too, but I found it is much smaller inside than the Toyobaru is (to the point that I would not be comfortable owning one) and I’m two inches shorter than your 20-something.
Ford sells >100K Mustangs a year, and the average lifespan is probably around 10 years, so you just became one in a million. It’s not a surprise that there are plenty of accident videos on the ‘net featuring a Mustang of some flavor.
I’d rock it, if that were my thing. Screw what anyone at the office thinks. I’m in management (albeit engineering management, which may be too technical to be real ;-)) and I’m on my second STI -- and the real deal, blue with gold wheels and the big ass wing. A lot of people, even us old fogies (okay, I’m only 42,…
Sad to see it go. I’ve always kinda wanted an Evo, but ended up with an STi instead. I don’t think Subaru has kept it fresh enough either, but at least they haven’t given up on it like Mitsubishi did with the Evo. I’m on my second STi (a 2015 Launch Edition), my first was a 2006; if the day comes when Subaru has their…
I once got caught in a traffic jam out in the middle of nowhere (on I84 near Biggs Junction to be precise) because ODOT put out signs 5 miles in advance advising that the right line would be closed, and so people merged into the left lane, and then immediately started straddling the two lanes *for five miles* to keep…
I can only imagine what it’s like. I try to give tractor trailers a lot of space before I merge back over in front of them. And recently I bought myself a travel trailer, and while it’s pretty small, it’s an eye opener. Just the fact that I’m towing a trailer makes people try really hard to get in front of me, even…
An EB gets 17 in the city, low-mid 20s on the highway if you don’t drive stupid fast. I’d probably get 17 in my EB if I was only towing a little car like that. When I’m towing my parachute ... I mean, travel trailer ... I get 11 mpg. Weight doesn’t really matter, especially to the ecobeast, but there’s no way around…
My EB gets 17 for daily driving with my wife at the wheel, a bit less when I’m driving :). Low-mid 20s highway cruising not towing. 11 mpg towing a 24 foot travel trailer. It’s night and day towing a TT vs a car trailer; a heavy but low trailer is effortless, can’t hardly tell it’s there. But you notice a travel…
