Has anyone ever had issues with people assuming you’re of an ethnic group/religion that you don’t actually belong to? I ask since it’s Passover and all of my coworkers, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, have been wishing me a Happy Passover recently. More generally, they’ve all been making jokes about how I don’t eat

Thanks for the suggestion!

I am not but my mom is, and we both love this Boscia mask... We have fairly different skin types but it works well for both of us. And it’s not a peel-off mask but the oatmeal mask (I forget the name at the moment) from Lush is AMAZING. There are plenty of online recipes for copies that don’t cost an arm and a leg as

Thanks. I’m getting over it pretty quickly though I think (turns out I was unintentionally the long-term affair) so I had a couple days of crying which have quickly turned into “Thank God I’m rid of that asshole.” I wish you the best of luck... it seems like (from other comments) that you’re going to deal with it in

I am sending my best wishes and feelings towards you and your job hunt! I doubt that I, random internet commenter, can help, but would be happy to do so if you think of anything you need.

Ah yeah that’s a different issue. In that case.... if you feel like you could rebound if it doesn’t work out, I’d say give it a shot! If you can still do part-time for you current job, it’s not like your putting everything on the line.

I just went through a long distance breakup myself where it took me forever to come to terms with it, so... in this case I think I understand exactly how you feel.

Ugh. Have been there. It’s awful. I’m sorry :(

Oooh thanks! I hadn’t even considered Korean makeup but now that I think about it it’s a great option!

I think part-time is definitely better than quitting your job altogether... If you feel like you could take a 50% pay cut and still live ok and save for retirement I’d say go for it. Otherwise hold off... If you make that money now and save a lot for retirement you could always do writing as a second career then.

They’re not fancy, but the cheap-as-hell Hanes packs of cotton panties have always worked well for me and lasted a long time.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check it out next time I’m at the drugstore

I’l check it out! Thanks!

Ugh that’s a tough situation. :( I’m afraid that all I have to offer is a puppy gif and internet hugs...

It’s my first weekend as a single girl so I bought myself a new nail polish... can’t wait to try it out! I might take it to a salon and have the professionals help me though... I really am terrible at painting my own nails.

If I might ask a question of my own.... does anyone have a recommendation for cheap (or cheapish) foundation for extremely pale skin? The stash of 6€ per bottle foundation that I brought back with me from Germany is beginning to run out, and I don’t really want to go back to spending $50 a bottle at Sephora...

A death trap that the government built by displacing thousands and thousands of people

People ARE making a big deal about it... there have been massive protests about the Games for years now, but it hasn’t changed anything since the government is hopelessly corrupt. The protests simply haven’t attracted too much attention outside of Brazil.

Haha my response now to Bernie supporters telling me that I’m “voting with my vagina” (why oh why has this happened multiple times?) is to take it VERY literally. I’m quite impressed by women who can vote with their vaginas. To get up on the machine like that? I’m not nearly athletic enough. They must be doing their

A lot of it is that this list is only counting the cities themselves and not metro areas, and Boston proper is VERY small and wealthy. A lot of people who “live in Boston” technically live in one of the surrounding towns and cities that are kind of just sprawled out around it.
