I think it can be a little bit more complicated if part of your job (formally or informally as a blogger, for example) is critiquing other author’s work. If your specialisation is romance and you’re an office in the RWA, then you will likely end up providing public critique of a romance author’s work who happens to be

Oh hi, Kathryn Lynn Davis. Glad you could make it to the comments section.

Eh, it mattered enough for you to write back. Either way, if you actually read Milan tweets,

Speaking of losers, look at the brand new account who’s only here to defend the RWA and whine about women/non-whites being added to video games.

If you read the passages from the book that Milan cites, the passages are objectively racist — and, at a minimum, stereotypical. Claims of immersing oneself into a culture does not protect/prevent you from writing something racist. Racism does not need to be intentional to be racist.

a person who was born and raised of another race can just claim to immerse” themselves into another race/culture for “six years”  and all of a sudden be free from criticism from people who were actually raised within that culture/race??

I didn’t have a lot of time so I only scanned this story.

Delays are good for video games on average. A delay means they actually give a non-zero amount of fucks about quality. As long as they don’t go full Duke Nukem on delays, I’m fine with it.

More like: “Jason Schreier delays Final Fantasy VII Remake and Avengers”.

Jason if you could quit delaying or cancelling games this year that’d be great, thanks.

Only a month for FFVIIR? That’s not bad at all.

“That’s too reasonable. Kill him.” - Jalopnik

Yeah but couldn’t you specifically just force choke them until you got the price you want?

There are an untold number of actors who would punch their mother for a regular role on a TV show that’s been on for 9 seasons. Even if you don’t like the show she still had to hustle and put the work in to get and keep that role.

This hit home. Trisomy 13 is common in my family, most of my sisters had multiple miscarriages from it. When I was pregnant the first time, I lived in Denver so I was “safe” if the genetic testing came back positive. Now, trying for #2, I live in Montana. The closest abortion provider is 77 miles away and could have

No one goes through this process seeking a “perfect” baby. It’s about reducing certain, unnecessary, legitimate suffering for both the fetus and the mother.

I remember talking to an anti-abortion protester and asking him (because of course he was a him) “what about situations where the fetus is nonviable?” Then I had to explain what that means, that the fetus was never going to be a living human, or at least not one who would be alive for longer than a few painful hours.

Thanks for sharing. I’m sorry you had to go through that. It fucking sucks!! Like someone in the piece said - it’s rage-inducing.

People aren’t terminating pregnancies because of imperfections. The three I know did it because two of the babies had chromosomal abnormalities and several serious birth defect and the third had an untreatable heart condition that would mean death within moments of being born. These three pregnancies were very wanted

Reminder: if you’re here to insist Gamergate wasn’t about harassing Quinn or that there was collusion involved, you’re outright incorrect, and there’s plenty of proof out there showing it.
