I’ll have more later. I’ll have votes and yells and calls and marching into my representatives’ offices and ripping them new ones. It’s not any different than what I’ve been doing.

Well, that’s really all I’ve got right now. Sorry if that’s not enough.

Hugs

Watching him now from his goddamn fucking resort. Jesus weeps.

What the fuck is going on, you guys?

Really?? That surprises me. Just about everyone I know who makes less than me is working 60 - 80 hours a week just trying to make ends meet.

Man half the childhood ones don’t make any sense to me: did anyone else grow up poor or not have much of a childhood? Juice boxes were an awesome treat and summers were long, boring, and horrendously lonely.

I did. We indeed left. I’m just worried he’s gonna attribute this to jealousy, you know? I honestly had hope for making new friends at this party. Like, truly. She kept turning her back to me when I was talking to her. Not cool, yo.

Blegh. I’m at a party hosted by a friend of my husband’s. He used to have a crush on her, and she doesn’t even know my name (introduced me with wrong name), and she hasn’t said two words to me since then. It is not a large party.

So is Glover like the Hero of Canton, the Man they call Jayne?

One thing I absolutely adored about my last company was that everyone was expected to take their own goddamned notes.

I’m just saying that I see women expected to be caretakers regardless of relationship status. I don’t know a single woman who has gotten to escape it. Whether married or not. I’ve seen unmarried women expected to take care of aunts, and uncles, and neighbors because no one else will. Those same women are still

I’m curious as to how much this actually has to do with marriage. I’ve seen women never marry and still have these problems. In fact, I would say 90% of the unmarried women I know have the same expectations.

Oh, thank you! I was looking for a new birth control.

I had a good hair day today. May not be able to keep my fucking life together, but damn, at least my hair looks good.

That’s really cool.

I went to a tiny public semi-rural school (k-8) with a 90% poverty rate. I was taught by an extremely dedicated staff who ensured we were fed, clothed, and then also educated us. As students, we varied greatly in our academic ability, but almost every teacher worked hard to make sure we learned as best we could. I

I laughed.

This is an excellent comment, and a great attitude to keep in mind. You should share something like this on LinkedIn.

I wouldn’t suggest it (and I’m a gun owning woman). There is a very rigid and narrow set of requirements that make self defense acceptable if you’re a woman. Many women go to jail in circumstances they wouldn’t have had they been men. I mean, look at Madeleine Davies’ article and the pushback she got for defending
