I had totally forgot that that scene directly followed chronologically to that other scene. Looking back, his hesitancy could totally have been that he wasn't "ready", and was afraid to admit to his wife that he enjoyed it with what's-his-name, afraid she would use it against him somehow. Maybe the plan wasn't for him

That was tough as well, I agree 100%. Being bullied as a teenager, it almost felt as if he was talking to me. It was very well written harshness.

I see where you're coming from, but what if some of the characters and situations are real, and others imaginary. What if Elliot is a real person who Tyrell met and stole his persona for his own new personality, perhaps not even purposefully. Maybe some Elliott scenes we see are the real Elliot, and others are Tyrell

I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone, as it was not my intention of the post, and perhaps it was a stretch for a parallel in the first place that would have been better ommitted entirely, but my perception of the scenes were different than yours.

I see your point, but how about this for a comparison.

In case you missed my reply to someone's comment, please let me know what you think about this:

In this episode, as pointed out before by another comment, Mr. Robot and Tyrell both asked someone directly "How are the kids?"
It is very, very interesting that they both had the same exact line. Also interesting that Elliot says in his narration that he killed Kayla, then soon after Wellick killed that guys wife.

Thanks for sharing! I too am a recovering addict from many substances, and much like Elliot, I always tried to avoid the system and any paper trail of my abuse.
