I disagree entirely. Salvation didn’t fail because it was about the future war, that setting has huge potential. The movie was just weak. Salvation isn’t actually a bad movie, it’s just not a good Terminator movie. It’s more like a Resident Evil desert apocalypse film with killer robots. It’s definitely miles better than T3, but then again that is damning with faint praise.

The Robocop reboot actually manages to quite deftly avoid that pitfall. It’s a movie that will appeal to fans of the original Robocop without trying to be the same film. I strongly recommend it.
