I actually love how I look at it. It’s not tedious and I have plenty of time for other things, some of which I’m equally dedicated to (Neil Gaiman books and Tolkien, for example), others of which I merely like. I’m a comic book fan, I’ve read tons of shitty stories with these characters in them, so I know how bad it

I have a very different way of looking at it. If you love something you’re dedicated to it. If you’re dedicated to it, closing yourself off from a part of it (an objectively better part in case- when they’re good, the comics are much better than the movies could ever wish to be) makes no sense. You don’t have to like

In my opinion, if you cared enough about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, you'd make it your mission to absorb all of it you can. You're not dedicated to it, so you probably don't care as much about it as this post makes it seem, but want to make some kind of snarky rejoinder on my opinions of fandom

Oh, I’m not going to defend it. It has some cool moments, but it’s not great. However, it’s the best Bendis written event, which is admittedly a pretty low bar. It was only 4 issues long, first off, so he didn’t have time to stretch it out and make it super boring. Secondly, it was almost action packed for a Bendis

We can only hope they do something to them in post. Maybe if we criticize how cheap and terrible they look, they will.

No, they look like blew through too much money on CGI effects and actors and cheaped out on this.

They look cheap to me. The concept art floating around was so faithful and then this is what we get.

I am nothing if not a masochist. We can agree to disagree. However, my take on it is this- if you love superheroes, you shouldn’t just like one interpretation of them. You should consume as much of them as possible. It’s a dedication thing to me, even through the bad times. That’s all.

I never said they were shills, I said superfans. There’s a difference. You can be a fan of something and not be on the payroll. So, maybe fuck off?

When I saw that concept art months ago, I was happy. This shit, though, is terrible. It’s Picolo in that Dragonball movie bad.

Or... or they can just never do that trash ass Bendis bad idea. That would be great. It’s not the worst Bendis event (that’s House of M), but it’s a Bendis event not called Siege, so it’s garbage.

Can we talk about how terrible the Skrulls look? Like, I know all the writers and half the commenters on this site are MCU superfans who think they’re the test superhero things ever (despite most never having read an actual comic) and are loath to say anything negative about the movies, but those designs are terrible.

Nearly every Trump voter I know used to love Eminem and now hate him, which is hilarious.

I haven’t eaten at Cinderella’s Royal Table since I was a child in the 80s, so I didn’t know that. Thank you.

At Walt Disney World, you can drink at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. In Magic Kingdom, you can drink at the Be Our Guest restaurant.

It’s not my fault their sentence doesn’t make any sense because they don’t know the definitions of words.

We’ll have to disagree on this one. I’llalways look at itlike this- if it’s considered canon at some point, it’s not fanfic. If it’s bullshit that can be sued out of existence, it’s fanfic. There’s a big difference between being an amateur doing something for fun and a professional doing something for a paycheck,

Re: your second and third paragraphs.

So... the vast majority isn’t either shipping porn or Mary Sue porn? It’s all thoughtful, creative, and well written?

No, they’re novels published by professional writers, most of which are pretty good. Fanfic is a bunch of amateurs (with a few good ones) writing shitty wish fulfillment porn.
