Actually, his plan was to empower the downtrodden to rise up and destroy their oppressors, which is a far cry from taking over the world. He also had good motivation for it and was played by a great actor who made you believe in what he said. In reality, like the best villains, the only thing truly villainous about

Klaw was a stereotypical greedy mercenary. He was lucky to be played by someone as talented as Andy Serkis. The character as written is nothing special without that performance.

Loki is one of four MCU villains who are actually worth a damn. The other three are Killmonger, Vulture, and Thanos. That’s why I didn’t include him or the others I listed, because they are great villains. It’s the rest of the villains that are horrible.

It used to be all superheroes didn’t kill, but Marvel got a lot more lax about that in recent years in the comics.

Dude, Killmonger was one of the best MCU villains of them all. Who’s better, Ronan? Killian? Whiplash?  One of the many other shitty villains from the movies?

I feel like this is a terrible idea. There’s no hero for so much of the series, the time jumps around too much, and I don’t think a casual audience is going to be able to stick around with it to get to the parts that have main characters that last more than a couple of episodes.

Mid-90s is when grunge was dead and the only people who didn’t know it were the fans and the record execs, though, so they’re even more pathetic because they’re like third wave zombies or something.

There will be no grunge revival. Most of the big bands are missing members because of heroin and the ones that are still around have worn out their welcome years ago. Plus, grunge imitation was always horrible and no one wants to live through that again.

You mean illusions right? Because disillusions doesn’t go there. Neither does illusions. You’re bad at words.

A majority of people didn’t vote for him.... so yeah. Also, “Silent Majority” was a dog whistle phrase created by the Nixon campaign to represent the bigoted white people who opposed the Civil Rights Act and was a key factor in turning the South Republican.

You mean the economic recovery Obama started? The upward trend that his policies created? Yeah, that’s pretty nice. Unfortunately, seeing as how Trump has already jumped on the cut taxes for the rich and deregulation train, like W did, there’s a chance things are going to crater again. Neither of those things are good

I’ll be honest, I don’t always keep up with the Oscar noms anymore, but did that get nominated? And what does it have to do with my point?

Awesome. Best fan theory ever.

Well, so far, you’re half right it wasn’t a fan service-y rehash.

So.. Kirk is Picard’s ancestor. Does that mean he’s Sisko’s too? Because those two are both different sides of Kirk. Picard is the explorer side of Kirk and Sisko is the warrior side.

We got boring prestige films as nominees all the time. Time to spice it up.

I liked it a lot more than most of the MCU, but I’m very much not the target audience of the MCU- I’m a comic book fan. So the whole time I’m watching the movies, I’m ripping them apart in my head, noticing where they dumbed shit down for the casual audience, recognizing the boring structure all the movies share, and

My thing is we’ve gotten lots of movies with shitty plots as Best Picture nominees... and even with the shitty plot, Black Panther is still a great movie. So it deserves some recognition and I think Best Picture is fitting.

I can respect that.

We've gotten Best Pictures nods for movies that were a lot worse.
