I don't think they'd be a good fit at all for this one but I would be interested to see The Coen Brothers' version of a superhero film.
Does he get visits from a probation officer? If he did and he was having thoughts of suicide, he might have wanted to hide the gun so it wouldn't be taken away before he made up his mind one way or the other.

I have to admit I hadn't even considered he could be using the gun for criminal purposes—I thought he was about to kill himself before Joan knocked on his door.
