With all the sexism, it’s hard to remember: these fuckers are racist, too.

A good point someone once made was comparing Frank Reynolds on It’s Always Sunny to Pierce Hawthorne on Community. They’re both horrendously sexist and racist old white guys who act out in absurd and offensive ways.

Honestly, a little crazy that of his shows, It’s Always Sunny isn’t the one with misconduct allegations.

I understood Roberts’ dissent on Roe to be an attempt to kick the can further down the road; to “leave for another day whether to reject any right to an abortion at all,” because of his alleged ambivalence on the question. Per his own words, “what he wanted” as something way less certain than what we got. The result

It is objectively true that if RBG had retired under Obama, her replacement would not have been selected by the next administration, whose appointees were explicitly chosen to uphold a rightwing agenda. This is exactly what happened in 2020.

There’s no value to it, no.

Right, there is no realistic sense that her capacity will increase. Fetterman is a poor point of comparison, because mental health outcomes for a 53-year-old aren’t as intractable as age-related cognitive decline in an 89-year-old.

It’s manosphere shit, I’m pretty convinced.

The answer is Kingsley Ben-Adir. He is 37, relatively but not completely unknown, has a ton of gravitas, I believe he might win a fistfight, and he’s actually British.

This isn’t even some kind of gotcha anymore, because Republicans are way past defending the objectivity of their beliefs. They do and say whatever they have to, to create the world they want to live in.

Would he even want to do Bond? He seems like an actor who’d go insane in a nuts-and-bolts genre franchise. Even when he took a superhero gig, it was Noah Hawley’s Legion. The vibe he gives off in interviews is that he’d way rather do strange or interesting projects than get stuck in another formulaic rut like with Down

It’s not complicated: Grogu has nothing to do because Grogu doesn’t belong on the show right now.

That period of aesthetic design in general pumped out some gems. Jaguar is top-tier, but Britain was also putting out MG, Austin Healey, Aston Martin...so many gorgeous cars. Must’ve been something in the water.

Yeah, I can only assume they’ll fill in a ton of blanks with random side-quest moments or vignettes about different characters. The core plot of Sorcerer’s Stone is charitably 4 episodes. Even if it’s an 8 episode season, you’re talking about 50% filler.

“Gee, I wonder what happened on Succession last night?”

And to defend American culture against the mere existence and visibility of trans people by symbolically massacring a 30-rack of beer. “Definitely not a threat of genocide aimed at trans people,” some conservative somewhere tried to rationalize, I bet.

Now playing

Counterpoint: there’s this fan edit I’d like to will into existence.

When you’re a prince, they let you do it.”

FWIW I had a similar reaction. His decade-old point was stupid and carried terrible implications, but it doesn’t sound like his goal was to demonize gay people. An actor’s job is to find empathy for characters they portray; that’s a difficult task for something as universally-maligned as a pedophile, and it sounds

Still my favorite Disneyland ride. But hard agree: the aggressive movie tie-in makes it a little worse.
