The Tick video game was inspired by the TV show but based on the comic for legal reasons. Chainsaw Vigilante and The Ninjas are recurring characters there.

The whole episode, I kept thinking, "Why does this version of the Tick seem so familiar? He talks and moves like someone… who is Serafinowicz channeling?"

What tipped you off? Was it the part where The Monkey yells "Hey! Listen!" and proceeds to hover over the head of a monster until Kubo remembers to press Z?

I've joked about it, but I think at the root, you're right; Jo wants to engage with the Wizarding World, but not have to be fucked to deal with Harry Potter and his friends anymore. She tried to have her cake and eat it too in this one, and I think "Fantastic Beasts" will prove to be better liked and better respected

At the start of 2016, one of my resolutions was to read the complete Shakespeare. I put it off in a big way, and now I have to read two Shakeys a week to catch up. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is sitting open in front of me but I'm here instead.

Ever see the lost pilot of "Billy and Mandy," where Mandy tricks Billy into lobotomizing himself for laughs?

Precisely what Spider-Man has always needed: more dancing.

As per Japanese tradition, winning Olympians in 2020 will have to compete against the Elite Four before claiming their gold.

I'd like to see a genuine feature film version of "Harvest Home," as opposed to the low-budget TV version from decades ago.

Perhaps he was the kid that Jesus slew as an infant and then resurrected for funsies in the Apocrypha?

The rule of thumb is if you don't know who to sing the song to, the lyric always defaults back to "Mr. President."

There was a bar and grill near my college friend's house that used the following dubious alternate words to the Birthday Song:

It's like the Beatitudes of Genghis Khan (which are almost certainly not actual quotes of the Khan at all):

I suspect he's tried, but his stubby little 1998 paws make modern laptop keyboards a difficulty, and his soft plush exterior isn't conducive to touchscreens. As far as I can tell, his primary media consumption comes from pressing the physical buttons on an Apple TV 3 remote, and when I someday upgrade to the

Mr. Chooch has no friends- only roommates, and obstacles.

Digimon was my first real introduction to the "cool losers" archetype. Most kid and tween shows were either based around idealized childhood stereotypes or "rebellious dudes with 'tudes." But the Digi-Destined (and especially the season 2 teens) were awkward, neurotic, not particularly attractive and deeply

The chicken laying eggs thing is a little more perverse than that… Young Frank Sinatra was such a draw that women would wait and hold seats for hours, sometimes all day, for a chance to see their first teen idol. When he finally appeared and started crooning, in their physical joy, arousal and relaxation, not only

"Golden Age of Wireless" is the unsung great album from which so much else was born.

The first season of Pokémon (and the stage musical based on it) have a song, "The Time Has Come (Pikachu's Goodbye)," which is in context based on Ash's emotional state when he thinks Pikachu is leaving him… but then you listen to the lyrics and it's pretty clearly about a friend or sibling who died too young. https://

Go see "Beautiful" if the tour comes through town. It's a stage biopic of Carole King's formative years from struggling studio songwriter to the "Tapestry" tour, and her attempt to find her voice (musically and personally) in the face of social change and a dysfunctional relationship.
