Funny story, those chats don’t have the same rates of toxicity. Why Twitch or broadcasters cling to an active chat for big corporate eSports is a mystery to me. Will they really lose money by having an option to deactivate it? Is it the one feature that keeps TV from sniping big eSports events?

The NFL knows not to have a chatbox next to the broadcast. Twitch should do the same for channels that broadcast events. If you want to interact with something meaningful, go to the reddit for it. There’s no reason to have a chat that can only function as a spam box because there are 10,000 viewers
