Best cross over ever.

Haha, I have to confess, I thought the Hannah/Adam thing was more genuine - or at least hopeful. I think i said in the finale thread that they may actually be able to help each other at that moment in time, even if they aren't anywhere near mature enough to make a healthy long lasting relationship.

Well Tjardus is, and it really made me wonder.

Yeh, that sounds about right, they originally wanted Tim to be quite a bit chubbier which would tally with Gervais. I think Gervais still plays up to the Brentisms though.

If I had to choose between Jessa, Marnie or a Camera up my butt I'd choose Marnie.

Well I don't necessarily think that's what Dunham is going for and yes Sunny does do it better.

At the very least.

I don't think they are meant to be taken "seriously", or certainly not as models of serious behaviour.

I find Marnie way worse than Jessa actually. There's entitlement as a way to deal with damage and there's entitlement because you grew up spoiled. Jessa is the former, Marnie the latter.

The worst person of all time is an excellent character for a comedy drama.

Wow, that's a vastly different reading than I gave it. It was spontaneous sure but it was also blinkered, weirdly entitled (on both Dowd's and Jessa's parts) and utterly, amazingly ill thought out and stupid. I'm genuinely suprised people were viewing it as the start of some sort of character growth.

Me too, I read way more articles about the controversy than actually about the show so expected something very different to what we get. Sonia nails it with "a string of lovely character vignettes, with a deliberate disinterest in plot and a fascination with a certain zeitgeist."
I'm sure Dunham is mocking the

Well Ricky Gervais is the prime example here. Even though Brent isn't Gervais people still confuse the two and Gervais plays into it just like Dunham does. They both make funny TeeVee so I don't really care about "who are they really" questions but plenty do.

Bullshit, she's a fraud.

Wahlberg, DiCaprio and Baldwin are all hilarious in The Departed. I think it's one of his funniest films since After Hours.
