It's pretty good, the final episode is somewhat awkward. Definitely worth a watch but I don't think the promise of the first two eps is ever quite delivered.

The only thing more horrifying is "Hannigram"
"Except he's mooning over a horrible person, whose goals as noted before
are transparently stupid. Jenkins dies for this person and it's the
coldest death in the Coens' filmography. But he had it coming. He's an
idiot not because of his job or his haircut but because of his actions,
which holds true for everyone in…
But it doesn't amuse the audience, that is the point. It kinda smacks them about the face and says "look, look at this, we're fucked in a black hole of venality, idiocy, narcissism and greed - are you fucking happy now?"
Whimsy is definitely not a concept I would associate with Burn After Reading, it's as cynical, bitter and mean a film as I've ever seen and it's all the better for it.
I highly recommend doing it, especially with beloved shows, puts the act of criticism in perspective.
Read the first season Fringe reviews and comments and you'll see.
Completely disagree. You'd need to shows why emotional pain that will last for years and years is less bad than physical pain that will last for a day or two.
B+ - Very good episode but it's moves to fast once Ashdroid turns up

I don't disagree with you guys, but I would say look at the reviews and comments the first 8 or so eps of Fringe got on Av Club - pretty much as negative as the reaction to this show. People hated Torv and the character Dunham, thought Pacey…
This is true, but the "something more" could well have turned out to be crap so it was still only passable.
It was about 11 episodes before Fringe became anything more than passable and a full season before it got to "good".
"problematic" is the single worse concept in modern criticism. Honest.
"you've obviously got some personal trust issues"
"because a rational, trusting partner wouldn't even start the search"
Fair.
Sure it can happen but saying it's better than the alternative by default has no basis in fact. I've been in a situation like that and it didn't end half as well as yours did. This wasn't down to immaturity from the people involved. The only immature action was from the person who couldn't resist the allure of a quick…
Or, in my case more accurately:
He shouldn't have to get past betrayal though. The tech just makes it easier to remember how is wife fucked him over. It's not nice, but that is her fault, not the tech's.
"love the kid like he's your son and that kid loves you like you're his
father, then it doesn't matter who's sperm was involved. You're that
kid's dad."
