I honestly find it bonkers the license plate frame would be illegal in the first place. I have never in my 42 years seen one that obscures ANY important information. Now those plate covers, the one that cover the face of the plate, usually to thwart speed cameras are a different story.

It’s not about how often it is used. It’s about being another tool for the cops to turn an everyday citizen into a suspect that can be detained. You know, because police obviously don’t have enough power yet.

I was pulled over for tint. He just used it as a pretext because I glanced in his direction as he drove by and then he couldnt find anything to get me on. I was pretty fucking furious at the time, and typing this has brought back some of that anger.

Well, the cops can’t tell if you’re black or white if the tint is too dark so I guess they figure lets take a chance!

So they took a car that's already a bad cartoon caricature of itself and turned it into a bad cartoon of a different car. This is the polar opposite of the Japanese guys who make kei cars look like 69 Chevy trucks, because those look like cute little miniatures while this looks like an overinflated balloon.
