And I want to add that there is a reason why these sold poorly... they were crap for what they cost.
This very much a we’re perfectly fine not selling this car, and keeping it in our showroom for people to look at - price. Given that it’s the dealer owner’s late brother’s car - I suppose there’s also a sentimentality premium built into the price as well.

Don’t leave out Honda. The 80s was a golden era for Honda. I’d also say the 80s at its worst was better than the post-1972 70s.

The issue with my wife and I is impulsive behavior. We go out shopping for one thing at 7 am on a Saturday and shop up at 5am on Sunday morning with a pile of random crap we ended up getting while we forgot what we were looking for and having put 400+ miles on our vehicle. We just go for adventures every month or two.
Reverse: For me it’s the cost and the fact that I live in flyover country here in the midwest.
Just a quick note about the word choice in point 1:
I meant relative to other cars in their category. The regular Kona starts at $21K, but the EV version starts at $34K. Even with tax credits, that’s still a lot more.

I was not mechanically inclined, mind you, but I drove a Delta 88 that had a tape deck. The tape deck ate tapes, so I velcroed a cassette walkman to the underside of the dash, with a stereo miniplug to cassette adapter- so I would play my tapes in the walkman through the adapter instead of just getting a cheapy…
