Why is her gender of any importance? How exactly was she “keeping it from voters?” She was asked if she was a woman and she said yes. Whether she was born a woman or transitioned into one is her own damned business. No one asks cisgendered people to justify their gender.

In what way is this tragic? It sounds like she hid the fact she was trans, a news reporter found out about it, and reported it. That fact was, apparently, of interest to the voters of Boston. That’s the way journalism is supposed to work.
