I recently did the same thing this year. I always avoided this show when it was on because I found the whole vampire/gothic fantasy thing really uninteresting. Then a few years ago I read "Fray," Joss Whedon's excellent comic book miniseries about the Slayer in the far future, which got me reading Buffy: Season 8,

I really liked that scene too, where she stood up for herself. She's just on the verge of breaking down, but she keeps it together. You get this sense of, "Wow, Spencer really messed this girl up."

The Girl Friday bit made me crack up. The way she ends it with "Operator!" just killed me.

I agree. I love it when Jess and Winston do things together. There's a great bit in season one where Schmidt's trying to distract them by telling them that there is a crescent moon outside in the night sky. The both of them get -inordinately- excited about this a run to the window. Such an odd thing to have in common

Line of the night, for me, weirdly enough.

Elvin delivers one of my all time favorite Cosby Show lines. I forget the exact episode, but it's in a later season where all the husbands and wives are having a barbeque in the backyard; the men's conversation turns to the subject of "are you a breast man, or a leg man" in the context of women.

Wasn't that basically what happened in The Onion's reality-show-parody series, Sex House? I mean minus the actual cannibalism, it goes from a Big Brother parody to a twisted imprisonment survival horror show. A bit brilliant, actually.
