I drive 10 miles a day to work in austin, and live in North central, and I spent 90% of my time at or over the speed limit.

...a culture that infuriates me? You mean that same culture I have spent years learning about, immersed in, adapting to, and being molded by? That culture? The one that is so much a part of my identity and sociocultural context that I’ve chosen to take on Japanese nationality and live here for the rest of my life.
United Auto Workers dues are about $40 a month
That’s far from “outrageous” considering all the workers get out of having union representation
I see lots of you are claiming that “workers at Tesla don’t need a union”
Gregor Lesnik would like to have a word with you about that
Absolutely. That won’t stop people from repeating the same old worn out lines.
Fox News is already going ape shit over this. The question I have for the idiots who oppose unions is this: Do you vote? If yes then I’ll bet it’s because you want a say in how the government that gets your tax dollars is run. So why would you NOT want a say in the company that your work effort supports? I love how…
True, but Intel is also known as a place where job security goes to die, based on performance or not. Growing up in Hillsboro, OR I witnessed many of my friends’ family members be shuffled off over the years during their layoff waves.
Ask those workers what they think about all that “flexibility” and how it affects them.
I’m sure it’s good for the boss - but what’s good for the boss is often terrible for the worker.
“Flexibility” as a rule means bosses trying to screw over their workers - as a rule that’s only good for the boss, not the workers.
Yes, because workers having rights on the job is such a bad thing
Thanks. Add payroll taxes, GL and Work comp and a fully burdened hour is probably close to $150. Zoiks!
Remind me which hospital you perform brain surgery at again? Like I said, what do you do for a living that's soooo much better than the monkey-level idiot work of a trained electrician?
I’d drive it. Really. As special as it is (and this is really special), it becomes nothing but an expensive decoration if it’s not used for its intended purpose. What would be special is to enjoy the miracle I’d found and share the joy with everyone who would see me on the road and in every parking lot. Driving this…
This has nothing to do with teenagers. There are plenty of trained people willing to this job for $30-$50 an hour, which is the going rate. This subcontractor wanted someone to do it for almost nothing. Which may have contributed to the safety problem in the first place.
It’s been happening in construction loooong before tech. Although without the use of any sort of visas usually.
H1B’s at least make a reasonable wage, and have an opportunity to become permanent residents eventually. This slovenian electrician was making $5/hr using his B1 visa. This is pure and simple labor visa fraud.
I would be so pissed!
The arm rests probably do go up. The regular release button doesn’t do it, but there’s a tiny hidden lever which I think is for cleaning or maintenance.
Honestly surprised at all the hate this kid is getting here, the land of homebrew project cars, compared to the rest of the internet, that loves the fact that this car is straight trolling Ferrari-driving Malibu. This car is, mechanically, better sorted than 50% of the tuner cars from known companies we drive on our…
