The Bo/Lauren sex scene was - surprisingly - not harmed in any way. But they DID cut a fan favorite Bo/Kenzi scene in the morning after.

They do compare the show do BTVS quite a bit…

Couldn't agree more. Most S2B episodes beat this one in doziness though. 2.12, 2.14, 2.15, 2.18 and 2.19 were all unwatchable to me.

Because she was "born this way", as Lady Gaga would say.

I have watched both seasons and I can safely say this is one of my least favorite episodes. I have already expressed this elsewhere, but  Bo looked pathetic.
It felt like I was watching a CW show where the 16 year old leading lady does nothing but cry and embarrass herself because of her boyfriend. I am so glad the

I beg to differ. Lauren is hardly what I would call a  Mary Sue. Her being too delicate for a character in a Fantasy show, well, I can't speak for everyone else but I would argue that - to me - that is exactly why people like her. She is the most human/flawed character on the show, who is suddenly manipulated into

Funny you say that because I've actually grown to dislike Kenzi quite a bit in the second season. She became a caricature and I often felt like they tried too hard with her character - though I did see an improvement in the last few episodes.

Having seen all of season 2, I can honestly say that the break up of Bo and Dyson's Twilight-esque relationship is the best thing that has ever happened to this show. May we never see these two in a monogamous relationship ever again.

There are no central gay (male) characters on the show, that's why. And if the show gives you Bo and Dyson rolling around in bed and going at it like bunnies in heat, the least they could do is treat its  female/female relationship with the same amount of realism. It is not The L Word, but it feels genuine enough.

You are certainly way more eloquent that I am, that's for sure ;)

It is treated with the uttermost respect.  As a matter of fact, sexual orientation isn't even an issue. It's not about coming out/acceptance/homophobia and all of the issues other shows try to cover whenever a gay character is introduced. Those issues aren't even touched here. People are what they are. In fact, this

Lauren is a woman on the show.

Spot on review. I'm all caught up with the show and I absolutely love it. I agree about Kris Holden-Ried's Dyson; the cliche, broody male love interest is old and in this case, forced storytelling. It is no wonder the vast majority of its online fans are rooting for Lauren.
