Sounds OK, I guess, but the last time I read a book recommended on the AV Club that was inspired by Russian folklore I wasn't too thrilled with it. Once bitten, twice shy.

You are the BEST PERSON.
I think Amberlivia didn't receive nearly as much Cortexiphan as Ourlivia did (feel so silly writing these names). I think because Peter wasn't there she left the trials earlier after some kind of problem with her dad (stepdad?). That's why she doesn't have the superpowers that Ourlivia does. I think Nina is giving her…
I thought it would be a UFO as well, but even then I wouldn't have thought aliens. Just some mad scientist types who invented a UFO. I wouldn't be surprised if Fringe did something like that.
I thought I'd have so many of these, but everyone I can think of is really more based on the actress and maybe her performance and not so much the character, really. For example I was obsessed with Hudson Leick for a while during Xena Warrior Princess's prime but I can't say I'd want to be in a relationship with her…
I'm torn about whether to watch this. I really like the idea of a comedy-drama filmed in Norway, and think that would be an interesting setting for a show, but I'm not overly thrilled about the ex-mobster angle.
I like the show, and I get that it has a dark humor about morality and death, but I think this episode took it a little too far in terms of the volume of innocent bystanders dead directly because of the Misfits' actions.
OK, Curtis didn't know that Shannon or the cat would become vampires, so you could excuse that,…
You are probably better at figuring things out than me. But it did start to make some sense after Hayden explained it.
Just when I thought FLCL couldn't be more incomprehensible to me: Brittle Bullet. Thanks are again due to Hayden for explaining a lot of what happened.
I see the comment, and agree with it. There could be even worse spoilers, certainly, but it's still the biggest issue with trying to read along with any TV Club Classic articles, Deadwood or otherwise.
Are you suggesting she is going to have vaginal intercourse with that gun?
I can't believe I missed this when it was in L.A. So sad!
That IS a rarity. I've only bought the CD of the opening act once in my life, for Whispertown 2000, opening for Rilo Kiley. Strangely everyone else I've tried to introduce them to has disliked them, but I love them.
Slaughterhouse-Five! I guess it's an obvious choice, but I've read most of his books and it's still my favorite. I also really liked Slapstick, despite Vonnegut's own claim that it wasn't very good.
This weekend I'll be watching They Might Be Giants's 30th Anniversary Show at UCLA, with Jonathan Coulton opening. In my opinion, the most consistently good band of all time, with as many great songs on their 2011 album as on their 1986 album. Coulton's pretty good, too. I've seen TMBG twice before, and they are…
That might actually get me to watch a show about Spartacus.
I empathize with you a great deal. In the last couple years, I've binged on a LOT of great TV first recommended to me by this website and/or its patrons.
I just watched these this week. I don't see that anyone's mentioned my favorite funny line, from when E.B. is desperately trying to learn what's going on after telling Alma that Al wants to meet with her.
WHAT THE FUCK.
If Anonymous can get nominated for something — and I didn't see it, maybe the costumes were truly incredible — then I don't think it's unreasonable to think any wide-release movie could get nominated for a low-profile category.
