I have to ask for a distinction here. Numerous people in this thread are hurling stones at religion, which is simply a collection of beliefs shared by a group of people. But by many of these comments, it seems like people are attacking faith, which is an entirely personal emotion and value. Faith is to believe,

I own every AC game, and I agree, this is the best one. Ubisoft was so focused on the game back then. It was about assassinations, pure and simple. There was a story, yeah, but the game was about killing select dudes, one at a time. I liked that aspect of AC1, and they really went away from it in subsequent games.

This game didn't age well, but the things they accomplished in it have strongly influenced the genre. In my opinion/memory, this was the first game to feature a really good female lead. No big tits, no constant focus on her ass, just a confident, intellectual young woman. The whole game hinges on her being believable

This isn't the only answer, but it's the only answer.

It reminds me of Mass Effect, in that you have all sort of dialog options, but most of them just lead to some asshole saying the same thing to you anyway.

You know, I've had this silly theory that the internet is the worst thing to ever happen to single player games. The problem is, publishers can hold developers to tight release windows, and devs feel the pressure to just release the game, done or not, polished or not. The root of the problem is greed on the part of

Kirk writes great reviews. I'm hard on games, too, so I appreciate that he doesn't let these developers off the hook for producing crappy games. They still cost $60 whether they are a 10 or a 6. (unless they get a deep discount at release... then, buyer beware)

I've gotta just say something. This isn't elitist or fanboyish, so don't lash out, please.
There's a lot of people who think TLOU is one of the greatest games ever made. Maybe THE greatest. I'll admit, I sure do.
It is totally ok if you don't agree. You can even hate it. No prob. Every once in a while, one of those

Look, you seem intelligent. You're well spoken, analytical. You're observant. If I could give another adult one piece of life-changing advice right now, on any topic in the world, it would be to go buy a PS3 and play The Last of Us. No amount of words can summarize or replace the experience of playing it. Run.

You sir have just invented the opposite of slut-shaming. She will be a heroine, travelling from town to town making out and making love with everyone, male or female.

I agree. A great writer doesn't have to leave bread crumbs for the reader to follow. Controversial topics like this one are what make people think and feel. Sometimes the reader will think and feel what they already thought and felt. Other times, like IMO this one, the author can pull people out of their comfort zones

I agree. TLOU was just so great the way it was, I'd hate to see it rehashed and diminish the original.

Final Fantasy

Dude, I couldn't think of the name but this was THE worst game I ever paid for. I was so damn pumped, too, it was the first fighting game to have Capoeira in it. It was also one of the first games to have motion capture, or some bullshit that predated motion capture. It WASN'T capturing the motion of an actual martial

Kinda ironic to name the studio Creative Assembly, when they actively shun the most creative modder in their community. Star-bellied sneetches.
