My fiance and I just picked up a TR6 for ourselves!

Here’s my version of British car ownership:

Since when is a VFR Old and Weird? Ok, that’s a ‘91, so a bit old, but weird? It’s not a Suzuki Madura. It’s not even a Buell.

9/10, would daily drive. But honestly, given what I daily-drive, and where I daily-drive it, that’s not really saying much.

Not judging at all as everyone has their own style but I will say as a father of 3 and with an abnormal amount of family and friends as Ph.D pharmacists, the warnings against giving meds to kids under a certain weight/age are mostly BS and just to cover the pharma companies butts. The vast majority can be given with

If you have a child with a severe peanut allergy, THE PARENT should have an epi pen. Think about it, would you expect the airline to have a dispensary and pharmacist/nurse on every flight to cover every sickness/disease? Your plane ticket would be $10,000.

Yah I agree with you on the Benadryl. Whisky is better.

Yes. The car cost and arm and a leg.

So now, less than five years later, you can go up in a drone in Detroit Pontiac, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the beigekrieg finally broke and rolled back.

Like my father says (we’re also in MI) “AWD dont help you stop no better”

I bought the right one. In fact, I ordered it. The problem with almost every car I’ve owned was that I bought it second hand because it was the right price and served the purpose. You can polish turds all you like, but it doesn’t fix the fact that it wasn’t the right car to begin with.

Replaced my car. All those annoying things (not running, stereo not working, alignment borked, repeated repairs, worn driver’s seat, lack of storage for vacation trips) were gone in one fell swoop.

Undo a bunch of mods put in by the GDPO. Thus far:

That Insignia wagon, tho.

Agreed. 6:41 wasted. Not to mention the improper way of cutting a Zap-Strap with cutters. They are just asking for some nasty skin slices.

Obligatory.

Did you have snow tires? I’m guessing not. I survived in Buffalo with FWD for years, but it required snow tires.

Dude if you live in Buffalo, NY you should have a second set of wheels for snow tires.

Yelp is a good resource for finding someone to inspect a remote car. I recently found a well-reviewed shop that was right around the corner from the seller. They wanted $75 for a through inspection, at the seller's site - not too bad IMO.
