Of course, and it’s not complicated. Blizzard has a large financial stake in the Chinese market. A pro-Hong Kong position jeopardizes that stake.

I was watching the Jimquisition on this the other day and he made a fairly interesting point about Blizzard on this one. They argue that the matter is to keep politics out and keep the optics on the game itself. But if someone were to post something that is arguably political but less controversial (and certainly not

Is Blizzard completely unaware of the Streisand Effect or something, or do they just enjoy digging their grave?

Side note: Panera mac and cheese is really damn good.

Anyone who thought this was something to be scandalized over has no business being around food prep. If you think Panera makes everything they sell there fresh every morning (or any other fast food restaurant for that matter), you are insane. There is a reason the food always tastes the same no matter what location

If Pyke was a representation of a runaway slave who fought back against his masters and freed others or something like that then I’d probably say “maybe don’t cosplay Pyke if you’re not black” but him being black has NOTHING to do with his biography in the game. He’s basically just a hardcore fisherman. He could be

It may be an unpopular opinion, but I see it as a controversy in US, Europe should not live with American baggage. Likewise, this wasn’t trying to be disparaging. People shouldn’t impose their own insecure views onto other countries - or you know, you shouldn’t do anything to shame the great people’s republic of china

The thing is, Breaking Bad was Walt’s show, the plot is primarily about him and the show ends when he does. This movie is entirely about Jesse and it really does give him the same story closure that Walt (and presumably Saul) got. It feels very necessary once you watch it.

If it were 4 years ago i’d be worried, but after “Better Call Saul”, I stopped worrying that Giligan was mining a well that ran dry.

They’d likely have been punished, but I doubt the punishment would’ve been as severe. The heavy-handed response from Blizzard is because China is extremely thin-skinned and will tolerate absolutely no criticism of their government.

Wow ZERO reporting credit?!?!

Question, what is your chart conveying? There is no labeling on it...

Oh man, I know. Its gotten so bad in the US, that its not even safe to leave your own house!

We rarely know everything behind a stranger’s situation. Maybe she had a death in the family and booked last-minute tickets to attend the funeral. Maybe another family member just called to say they’re suicidal or in desperate medical condition, and she dropped everything and booked the only seats she could grab.

I’m an airline captain and I would never ask someone to move seats unless there was a really compelling reason. Usually the flight attendants take care of all this and I only show up if there’s trouble.

Agreed with all of this, with one exception: if the captain/pilot tells you to to move, you move.
If they tell you to do the truffleshuffle, you do it.
Sue them afterwards and win big, but while on a airplane, the pilot is a dictator god. Same with the captain of a ship.
Document everything, get witnesses & video, and

Yeah, that’s what bugged me about this. Unless you’re playing a rhythm game or something, there’s no reason why music would prevent you from completing a game. It’s typically the least essential part of a video game.

Every once in awhile, Kotaku rolls out an article that just makes me scratch my head, and “I don’t like the music in a two year old videogame” is that article today. Was there really nothing more interesting to cover?

Not everything has to be pixel art.
