I largely agree with you, however with the way things are going with game development you rarely get a functioning copy of a game on a disc, and frequently the game will need to be downloaded in its entirety from a server regardless. Basically anything post 7th gen the disc might as well just be a game license.
I think people overestimate how much or how easily these games could be made easier without undermining their design. They are built around repetition and failure. It often seems that people simply don’t want that experience, but that’s not accessibility, to want a different experience than the one everyone else is…
