We like to see our favorite comedians take on similar roles in new worlds/stories. I view any batch of Steve Carrell movies as sequels to his comedic style. We don't need more of the guy from The 40-Year-Old Virgin to enjoy his specific brand of humor. Same applied for the Jim Carrey movies of the 90's.
I've never even seen anything close to it since, I hope the artists involved in this film can get there, need to animate waterpaint, putting flesh tones behind these images are just going to ruin them…
Thank goodness.
I thought Louie was going to FXX as well, as it's the mostly-comedy-now channel that I don't receive on FIOS.
I'd be relieved to see the number of quality shows halved. Keeping up is a joyful chore, but I can't go at this rate forever.
Such a shame too because with a little more UMPH it could have been a new classic.
totally. i think it's not the actors phoning it in as much as it is the directors not pushing them anymore.
Well, Jim might go out west… Michael is living in Colorado… good opportunity for a pit stop.
I wish the "smart" comedy crowd would give us more straight up parodies. Sly, tongue in cheek type stuff. Tropic Thunders, Shauns of the Dead, Zombielands and Walk Hards are too far and in-between. We get maybe one every other year. I don't need to see Jason Segel try to get the girl every four months, I'd much rather…
