Its not a stupid reason. They are completely failing at things other stores have launched with easily.. See Uplay, Origin and Battle.net, all 3  launched twice as good as EGS. Why should they, as games journalist, pretend somethings thats garbage for the consumers is good?

load times actually mater. A lot of game design currently is working around loading zones and texture pop in.  Eliminating that is actually quite interesting from a dev standpoint, and changes how levels and textures are designed. 

Hate? The headline was very clear: Epic Games Store will block your account if you buy too many games... because the Epic Games Store has been blocking accounts for buying too many games.
