Lol pretty sure the author is one of few people who don’t know this. I don’t even use those things and knew it needed to be distilled or saline. The box and instructions stress this very hard too.

Yes because it allows you to control how bright the light is and also allows for strobe, SOS and Morris code settings. I don't think androids can do all that on their own.

They never say the age or grade of the students. Alot of prepatory schools start as low as 7th and sometimes even 6th grade so the kid could have potentially been 11-12 years old.
