They've been making a big deal of it, but the old P-3s (from Austrailia) have also been doing a lot of the work. The huge difference between the two platforms is simple fuel efficiency: the P-8 is great at high altitude, but LOUSY down low; the P-3 is great down low and not too bad up high. For maritime patrol the

Tyler,

That's what I was going to mention! I nearly died in one of those in Colorado in the '90s.

Instead of going over the GM recall, what do you think of an Abarth with an automatic? Heresy or necessary?

I love it!

... in England. (It's an old story. Just google it)

Where in the world did you find that?

Raphiel,

Raphael,

It's beautiful, but It's CP for me because it isn't anything I'd want to drive at any price. 2sp slush-o-matic, straight 6, it's just not my bag, baby.

CP for the extensive rust and downright silly engine. This should have a 3.0L, not a underpowered 2.2T. (Don't get me wrong, I daily drive a 2.2T, and it's lots of fun, but a '69 is weigh lighter than an SC)

... and what proof do we have that it's the actual movie car?

I wouldn't want to drive it, but it's almost certainly worth more than the asking price when parted out. It's a mess now, but if you strip all the weird off it, and it is pretty straight, you could probably sell the tub for $2500.

I still hate it... but I'm glad that Porsche is in sound financial shape because of it.

It's so wrong and SO SO right. I LOVE IT! :)

That old lady could hoon anything! :)

Steve McQueen in Bullitt - your argument is invalid and incomplete.

Pilot here - Popping noise from something like a helicopter using turboshaft engines is consistent with an engine failure known as a "compressor stall." In simple language - the flame front from the burner section tries to move forward into the compressor and air stops flowing through the engine. Many things can

In my personal opinion, the perfect follow-on aircraft to the P-3 would have been a new P-3 with upgraded systems, engines, and in flight refueling ability. If that was too much of a hassle, then a Navy specific variant of the C-130J would also have also been awesome.

The P-8 isn't really very fuel efficient at the

Fun fact: I started my career as an STSSR. I got my fish back on USS Houston in 1998. Left the boat to attend BOOST as an STS1/SS in July 2001... the world got a good deal more interesting shortly thereafter.

Sorry... I mean aliens did it and the CIA is covering up for them. ;)
