The Switch is the ideal system for sports games. My gf will sit through pretty much any game, but she will constant complain if I am playing any sports game. Being able to play a full sports game on the system in handheld mode is just awesome. 2K, Madden, and FIFA on the couch while she watches whatever sounds amazing

So...... I used ice blocks to get all the way there. Took a while, but it’s possible...

A wild fedora-guy appears!

They’re stress tests. Restricting it to an hour means they’ll get maximum participation at one time - dedicating, say, 4 hours to a testfire would probably result in people playing for one or two hours, or less. They want MAXIMUM participation to make sure they’re ready server-side

That’s what you do in a testfire, you give a small window to force a lot of people at the same time and stress the servers as much as possible to see how it handles in the “worst” case scenario.

Gita, thank you for this--and particularly for taking the time to collect opinions from the broader fanbase.

I personally find what Jontron had to say during the “debate” (if such it can be called with a straight face) absolutely repugnant, on both a (personal) moral level, and as someone who is reasonably well-versed

Pretty sure that’s what Sonic Mania is.

Yeah I mean 23 seasons since 2013? Man that’s even more efficient then anime seasons.

Target supposedly as well, which is fun as they were cancelling some preorders earlier this month.

Why would anyone be mad at this. The game requires a touch screen to be played. The Switch has a touch screen. Your TV doesn’t. There might be a bunch of crappy mobile games making their way on the Switch but there are some great games that will be able to have a console version and gain a bit more visibility. There

I hope this paves the way for Nintendo DS’equals. I really want a World Ends With You follow up, and another elite beat agents. It would be clunky but a chrome cast (like) USB device could receive input via WiFi from the undocked switch, so the signal can be patched through the dock, to the tv via the HDMI.

Ok, let me rephrase that:

Hmmm... I’ve been trying to figure out how to sneak it into the work bathroom inconspicuously for some pooping playtime. The sock might work... but people might be assuming I’m up to something else entirely in there.

They have but I really think Sony is under the impression that there’s nothing they can do to sell a portable. The Vita flopped with a similar marketing message the Switch is using ; play home console games on the go. We got Uncharted, Killzone, LittleBigPLanet, Wipeout and others but none of it mattered.

Sure the night nurse was impressed, but what of the butler, chef and groundskeepers?!

That’s the way it is now, if I understand correctly. It’s not like it used to be where buying now could lead to you missing discounts like flash sales and stuff in the future. Doesn’t work that way anymore - one flat discount, all sale long.

All I know is that Grim Fandango was $3 yesterday and I snagged it in a heartbeat.

This is one of the reasons I really love Nintendo. They do stuff like this, which is really technically awesome, and totally unnecessary but really adds something awesome to this experience which you would never notice on its own, and they don't run around flapping their gums about their amazing technical
