Nobody should have to convince you. It says “Final Fantasy” on the box. It’s Final Fantasy. Period. That you dislike it is irrelevant to that fact.
Favorite design: FFXII
Patently absurd to not have FF6 Mog at the top of the list. He’s the coolest one, look at how he’s drinking a cocktail in the official Yoshitaka Amano art!
Honorary mention: Stiltzkin, the traveling Moogle from FFIX!
It’s fascinating to me that this “it’s not a REAL Final Fantasy!” discussion is coming off the recent release of FF7 Remake, and the even more recent trailer for part 2 which has only doubled-down on the action aspects...yet the reception for 7 was largely good (except from the traditionalists like myself who were…
If you can pace yourself, and you should pace yourself so the game doesn’t feel overwhelming, you could really start the game now and have plenty of it left when you move to the land of spotty internet.
I have the game but I haven’t started playing it yet, which is driving me mad. I’m moving to a new country in a few months where my internet will be spotty so I’m saving the game for that time, but boy, I just want to dive in.
After three dozen articles on the game here, I was wondering if someone would still write an actual review. This one was an interesting read.
Final Fantasy XV is underrated? It’s the most disappointed I’ve ever been in an FF game. I get actively angry thinking about the wasted potential with the story, chraracters and world. The whole way it was released and handled came off like the devs being honestly shocked that people care about those things in a Final…
His code modifies theirs and violates the ToS. Nintendo has repeatedly shown an aggressive stance from people profiting from their IP.
Piracy is illegal. I hope Nintendo sues you for distributing it.
Oh neat he’s charging $15 for a game he doesn’t own the rights to. What a great idea, I’m sure there won’t be any issues with that...
I always love it when developers explain the reasons behind decisions because its both very informative, and listening to capital ‘G’ Gamer accusations is exhausting. If you ask Twitter, 30fps is becase devs just need to move the FPS slider on the Engine Screen up to ‘60', and refusing to do so are Devs being LAZY.
Mike Fahey had a post here several years ago where he unboxed an original copy of Secret of Mana for SNES. He went into the history of how Secret of Mana was Square’s attempt to engage Western audiences with JRPG’s; and it worked. However, I think Square has abandoned their JRPG roots over the past decade, and thats…
the “ this isn’t my FF” crowd are a bunch of fucking stoners
I haven’t played many FF games beyond finishing 7, 8, and crisis core. None of the other games really caught my attention. Then I saw the trailer for 16. I went out and bought a PS5 GoW edition specifically for this game. I loved the demo, so I’m not disappointed that I preordered the full game a week or 2 ago. I’m…
“like 16-bit avatars pumping their fists on the save screen”
Honestly this is the thing I loved the most. When I saw pixelated party members on the menu screen.
Played through it last night and had a great time. They did a pretty good job at hitting the Game of Thrones vibe while still feeling like a Final Fantasy with all the grandiosity that comes with that.
