Definitely Puppy Linux. I use Ubuntu, but for a LiveCD Puppy is much faster and more robust. It also is way smaller. It has gparted and some rescue utilities, but is usable as a regular OS if, say, you *really* need to finish that lit paper, but you just fried your hard drive...

I don't think it's an actual waste of energy, because I'm pretty sure very few of us spend 20 minutes to put ice in the freezer. If you throw a party it's a cool trick though.

I agree with DA5ID_NZ. I am all for cheap and good looking, but this doesn't look that good. Not that I could come up with something better :)

I find baskets are really cool for storing anything really. I've recently put a small basket on my shelf which contains everything I need when going out. My wallet, keys, some spare change, maybe some jewelry you frequently put on. It's helped me not forget things at home a lot :)
