Inteceptor? I think most sportbikes are sub 400, and most cruisers are north of 600 these days. The only 500 lb bike the immediately comes to mind is the Interceptor or its 1200cc big brother.

Like a lot of supercar designs, I find it garish, misshapen, and downright ugly. But for some reason I also like it.

Every single one of those cars is 400 lbs or more heavier than the BRZ/FRS. 4 of them are over 700 lbs heavier.

Yes, they are. I have a friend who wanted a rear wheel drive convertible and was looking at everything from Miata to Audi, Ponies included. The Miata's sad mpg numbers in relation to the Mustang kicked it right off the list

If only tractors sounded anywhere near as good as Subarus. Also, this will not have the Subaru sound unless it has the UEL/turbo combo. Equal Length Exhaust and NA really diminishes the boxer burble.

My first thought as well.

She wasn't even parked. She left her car in the middle of the lane to give her Green Sermon.

Yeah, I liked that hack too.

Years of only watching the last chase scene has caused me to forget how bad this movie is.

I dislike every car on this list except one so I guess I am in the clear. Well, since I am dirt poor it doesn't count anyway.

Since my most recent car was a 3050 lb Impreza with only 170+hp at the crank, a 2600lb/200hp car will seem pretty lively to me. But I wouldn't complain about a 10:1 Weight:Power ratio, either. 265hp from a 2650lb RWD car with 53/47 sounds pretty damn sweet.

If someone wanted to give me that for Xmas, I wouldn't dither over what month I actually got it in.

I also understand the Brit roadster inspiration for the Miata, so the convertible makes sense. But damn, a Shooting Brake MX-5 or a fastback MX-5 would have been nice. I saw someone's fastback conversion 2ndGen a couple days ago, and it looked pretty sweet. If Mazda put a SkyActiv engine in the RX-8 it would be

I think 5x114.3 is the more common size. And I think there are a lot more aftermarket wheels in that size. Your RWD = 114.3 argument makes sense.

Toyota and Subaru both have LOTS of cars that use 5x100. Impreza, tC, and Carolla wheels are all pretty much interchangeable, IIRC.

I live in Cali and I find the hateful sun baking down on me is even more reason to have a cover over my head. I have no use for a convertible.

People forget that LSx engines have a smaller exterior displacement than a comparable DOHC V8, and also don't have to have all those heavy cams mounted up on either side, (Making the DOHC engine bigger, heavier and with a crappier CoG than the OHV LSx.)

Any RWD coupe is going to get compared to pony cars nowadays. It is a legitimate comparison despite vast price and power difference. Ponies may have the big v8s, but they weigh so damn much. It isn't even really a new idea. I seem to recall magazine articles in the early to mid 70's lauding the 240Z over the Corvette.

It would be sweet if they made it a 3-door fastback hatch. Might move weight rearward though with the heavy glass.

This was the saddest discovery I had after leasing a NA Impreza. I poured over the NASIOC ELE to UEL conversion threads and I was contemplating how much I would miss 5-10 hp (And if that lovely sound would be worth it.)
